Deconstructing Downward Facing Dog

Taught by Becky
March 15, 2024 5:30 pm ยท 1 hour 20 minutes Be Yoga and Wellness
Downward facing dog, or Adho Muka Svanasana in Sanskrit, is one of the most commonly used yoga asanas, and maybe even the most recognizable, but its alignment and focus can still be somewhat of a mystery to even the most experienced practitioner.

The benefits of down dog, as it is sometimes called in asana classes, are wide ranging when practiced mindfully. This workshop will help break down the actions of the body in this asana, from elongating the spine to calming the nervous system, and bring the focus to the misunderstanding and alignment of the asana.

In yoga asana, the externals become second nature to the energy that is freed to focus more internally on the subtleties of the breath and body. This workshop will be a welcoming space where we bring the old body patterns to the surface so it can be replaced with new impressions that serve our highest intention.

As with all workshops, there are no refunds or cancellations after the ticket is purchased.
